Introduction: The Indian Parliament had given its nod to the four labour codes in year 2019 and 2020. The Labour ministry initially planned its implementation in FY 2024-25, but held back its implementation because it wanted to enforce all the four codes in one go across country. As many as 28 States and UTs have finalized draft Rules and only 2 states have left as of now. “The Government is now focusing on prompt implementation of these Codes and Rules and working on phased implementation of these codes in FY 2025-26”. With the expected notification for implementation of Codes by Central Govt and Rules by respective State Governments, we have certain obvious questions. · What is Status and when would the New Labour Codes be implement? · What are my compliance obligations under New Labour Codes? · What would be financial implication of the New Labour Codes on my Business? · How to prepare for the implementation/ compliance under the Labour Codes? · How to design strategy & Action Plan for implementation of the Labour Codes? · Can I implement this Labour Code or do I need Expert Advise / Support?
